Red, Blue and Yellow...

Greetings and thank you for your faithful visits to my blog! Back today with a card I made for the newest challenge of "Primary Colors" for Inkspirational.  I hope you will stop over to see all the varied (and stunning) work created to inspire you by the rest of the Design Team and then create a piece of your very own to share with us.

I must say that I cannot remember the last time that I worked in primary colors....I began with red and yellow Brusho Crystals and sprayed water on them on water color paper.  The images are all by Stampotique and were colored in the Towbow Markers. Loving the new Ranger Enamels used to accent my card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Best, Yvonne

Sunshine and Happiness

Greetings! It's time again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational.  This time, we are to use patterned or designer paper with an optional twist of stamping onto the patterned paper.

I hope you will stop over to see the fabulous, and varied, samples that the Design Team have dreamed up to inspire you.  For my own card, I began with a discarded panel from another project that wasn't working for me.  It was colorized with Gelatos. I tore up strips of designer paper and adhered them to the top and bottom of the panel. The bunny girl by Stampotique was stamped on white card and several different pieces of designer paper and then paper pieced together onto the panel. I added a Kate Crane image for Stampotique to the background panel and then colored the images in with TowBow Markers and Posca Pens. The chit chat stickers complete my panel, which was matted and adhered to the card base. Thanks as always for stopping by.  I really appreciate your visits. Best, Yvonne

In honor of my Mom

Greetings! I stumbled on a new challenge this morning, called Mixed Media Monthly Challenge, and decided to submit this card.(I selected Challenge #14 from June 2015 for my project.)  It was created using Golden Fluid Acrylics laid onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water and mopped up with a panel of water color paper.  It was a bit too dark, so I sprayed it with Linen Dylusions Spray Ink.  The background images were stamped with StazOn Ink in Midnight Blue.  The focal images were stamped on water color scraps with Ranger Archival ink.  I then scribbled TowBow Markers onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water and dragged the panels through the color to age them.  The edges were distressed with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and each panel was matted with black paper and added to the larger painted panel.  I added sequins, a bit of cheese cloth and a tiny dried starfish, matted the finished panel and layered into a white card panel.  Finished size 8" x 8". All images by Rubber Dance Stamps. It was titled as such, as I created it in honor of my mom on her recent birthday.  She loved the beach!  Best, Yvonne

Please check out all the cool samples created by the rest of the Design Team and consider submitting a project of your own.

For my piece, I used images by Red Lead Paperworks, stamped onto water color paper and selectively colored in with Towbow Markers and a water color brush.  Thanks for stopping by. Best, Yvonne

Your Heart and My Heart

Greetings!  My card today is for the May 2016 Challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu where our theme is "Anything Goes."  I hope you will consider joining in the fun by submitting a card of your own.  For my card, I began by dropping Bister Crystals onto water color paper and spritzing with water.  After it dried, I stamped this gorgeous stamp by Technique Tuesday onto tissue paper and then adhered it to the water color panel.  I added soft colors with TowBow Markers.  Off to the side, I tore up scrap water color papers and old book text and added it to the panel along with string, cheese cloth and a few buttons. The panel was matted and added to a card blank. The finished size is 8" x 8".

On a Personal Note:

It is hard to believe it has been five months since I last posted to my blog.  As some of you know, my husband has been battling cancer for nearly 13 years.  We had a rather sudden crises that has taken months to work through, and he is more frail and weak than ever, but improved from when it all began.  I apologize for not posting an update sooner, but felt I owed all of you some sort of an explanation.  Suffice it to say, I am ecstatic to be back and dabbling in my art studio again!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping by and for your welcome comments.  Its good to be back! Best, Yvonne

Changing Seasons

Greetings! It is time once again for the latest challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenge! Our theme this time around is "Changing Seasons." Isn't autumn a beautiful time of year? I love pulling out my cozy sweaters and corduroys! For my own sample, I began by spraying fall colors of Dylusions Ink Sprays onto a water color panel and spritzing with water.  The focal image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps.  The girl is colored with TowBow Markers.  The acorns are from Red Lead Paperworks and the bark is from my yard! I hope you will pop on over to see what the rest of the team has dreamed up to inspire you and that you will then create and share your own project with us for the chance to win a prize offered by our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft.  Thanks for stopping by.  Yvonne

Peace and Love

Greetings! My post today is for the new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu for the Pink Team where "Anything Goes!"  I have really been bit by the Mixed Media Bug and wanted to try to use some of my newer stamp images from Stampotique and Kate Crane.  The background is a Traci Bautista Stencil by Stencil Girls that was spritzed with water after sprinkling on Color Burst Crystals.  The stencil was then turned upside down and more color was applied to the panel.  The hand carved images by Kate Crane were dipped in paint and added next.  The angel and sentiment were stamped on scrap card, trimmed, colored with TowBow Markers and adhered to the panel as shown  Touches of gold paint by Golden were added.  The panel was matted with black paper and added to a card base. We look forward to seeing what you share with us! Take care, and as always, thank you for your visits and comments.  Hugs, Yvonne

Gecko Galz August 2015

Greetings friends! My post today is to showcase some of the August 2015 imagery by Gecko Galz! I hope you will check out all the gorgeous art work by the rest of the Design Team and check often as new inspiration is offered throughout the month.  For my card above, I began by add Bister Crystals to a water color paper panel and spritzing with water.  I next stamped hand card images by Kate Crane and added Gold Fluid Acrylic paint by Golden.  The focal image and sentiment are from Gecko Galz Circus Time Stamps CT22, and Circus Life 2. and were printed, trimmed, matted and adhered to the card panel. I added liquid pearls to the corners.  The circus wagon by Artistic Outpost was stamped, trimmed, colorized and adhered to the card front.

For my next card, I printed out Curiosity Shop Papers CS2 and trimmed it to fit card front.  I matted the designer paper with black paper. I printed out focal image (Curiosity Shop Stamps CS) and sentiment (Gecko Galz Circus Time Stamps CT22) trimmed, colorized and mounted it to panel.  The panel was added to the card base. Liquid pearls were added to each corner of card.
For my final card, I again colorized a water color panel with Bister Crystals and stamped Kate Crane hand carved stamps.  I really liked the Gecko Galz Clown looking from the side, which was printed, trimmed and colorized and added to the card front.  The focal image, also be Gecko Galz was matted and adhered as shown along with the sentiment.  (Gecko Galz Circus Time Stamps CT23, CT22, Circus Life 1.)

Below is a FREE clip art image from Gecko Galz! Enjoy!

BonBons and Chocolate!

Greetings! It is time once again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational!  Our theme this time around is the word prompt of "Melt."  I did not have a snowman stamp and decided that chocolate also melts!
The background was colorized with Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Pink Distress Spray. The images are by Oxford Impressions, except for the ornate corners, which are from Crafty Individuals.  The images were colored in with TowBow Markers and I finished the card off with a seam binding bow from my stash.

I hope you will stop over at Inkspirational and check out the really cool inspiration pieces created for you by the rest of the Design Team and then create and submit a piece of your own.

Hugs, Yvonne

Secrets of the Sea

Greetings! It seems like it has been forever since I have blogged, and almost as long since I have created art.  My husband has had some health issues, again, so my mojo and time are limited.  Any way, with the beginning of August comes a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  I am hosting this time around and pinked the challenge for the Pink Team, which is "By the Sea."  I truly love all things beachy!  I recently ordered some new images from Oxford Impressions and thought they were perfect for the new challenge.  I began by rubbing Inktense Blocks onto a water color panel and then blended them with water.  The individual images and sentiment were stamped onto tissue paper, trimmed by running a water brush around the images and then tearing the waste away.  Goldens Fluid Matte Medium was used to adhere the images.  Towbow markers were applied lightly and spread out with a water brush.  I added a few sea shells and Viva Décor Liquid Pearls to the corner, matted the panel and applied it to a card base and my card was finished.  I hope you will stop over to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the Pink Team and then consider making a project of your own to share with us! Thanks for dropping by.  Best, Yvonne

Unity Blog Hop

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  I recently was selected as the April Winner of the Unity Be Inspired Challenge over at Unity and was invited to be a Guest Artist for their next Blog Hop.

Below are the inspiration projects that I had to choose from.  As you have probably guessed, I chose the color challenge shown below!

http://www.theunitystampco-challenge.blogspot.com/

To create my card, I began by water coloring a hot press water color panel with soft shades of green and blue.  To create the clouds, I quickly blotted the sky while wet with a baby wipe.  Natalie Girl was stamped next onto scrap water color paper and was colored with TowBow Markers and then trimmed and adhered to the card panel.  The sentiment, flowers, bird and flags were also stamped onto scrap water color paper, and tinted with the same TowBow Markers and painted with a water color brush and water.  I assembled everything on the panel, matted it with black paper and added it to the front of a card base.  Simple embellishments include Viva Décor Liquid Pearls and Ranger Liquid Pearls and black and white Bakers Twine. Stamp sets used include:

    Natalie Girl - Angie 1175A
    Tiny Vintage Banners - IB-263
All Kinds of Happy - UK-764A
    Hello Birdie - UK-760A

I hope you will join us for the Unity Blog Hop which starts here.  Remember to leave a comment for a chance at the Blog Hop prize!

Greetings! It time for another new challenge over at Inkspirational!  We have a Photo Challenge this time.  You will want to stop on over and see what the rest of the design team have created to inspire you.

For my own card, I began by laying down water colors on a piece of hot press water color paper.  I dabbed the sky while wet with a baby white to create the clouds.  The flowers, by Unity, where stamped with Archival Ink and colored in with TowBow Markers.  The centers were filled in with yellow Ranger Liquid Pearls.  The little girl and sentiment are both by Artistic Outpost.  The birds are from Crafty Individuals. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne

Give Thanks Every Day!

Greetings!  Thanks for dropping by today.  My post today is for two challenges.  The first is for the new "Be Inspired" Challenge over at Unity Stamps.  I am very excited to have been selected as the winner of last month's challenge over at Unity!

I like how you can pick from three challenges.  I am always drawn to the color challenge!  For my own card, I was inspired by the work of Kate Yetter.  I am so drawn to her distinctive stylized cards.  For my own card, I began with hot press water color paper.  I spritzed on several Distress Ink Stains and then added torn pieces of a vintage book page using fluid matte medium.  More Distress Ink Stains were added along with a spritz of water for dripping. (All images and the sentiment are by Unity Stamps.)  The beautiful butterflies, were inked and stamped next.  I added of washi tape.  The focal image "Grace" was stamped on scrap hot press water color paper and colored with Towbow Markers.  It was trimmed and added to the panel.  A sentiment was stamped in the lower right hand corner.  A few Viva Décor Liquid Pearls complete my card.   My card is also for the new challenge at Make My Monday where the theme is "Things with Wings."

Afternoon Tea

Greetings! Back today with a mixed media card made for the new challenge over at Make My Monday where the theme is "Coffee or Tea."  After looking through my rubber stamp images, I pulled various images from three different Artistic Outpost sets to use as the focal point of my card.  The background was made using hot press water color paper and spritzed with Cherry Pie and London Blue Dylusion Ink Spray.  Titanium White Golden Acrylic Paint was also flicked onto the prepared panel.  The various focal images were stamped with Archival Inks, trimmed, water colored with TowBow Markers and the edges distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  Some chrome Viva Décor Liquid Pearls and a vintage seam binding bow complete my card.  I am also entering my card at the Artistic Outpost Show Us Your Art Challenge.  Thanks for dropping by. Hugs, Yvonne

Tussie Mussie

Greetings faithful followers!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  There is a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, and the Pink Team is making Tussie Mussies!  I admit this is my very first Tussie Mussie!  I planned to do something Victorian but really struggled with putting anything around the edge and found Washi Tape a safe bet, hence I decided to go a bit more modern! My stamps are all by Dina Wakely. Archival Ink by Ranger and Silks Acrylic Paints were used, along with Towbow Markers. I hope you will pop over to EE and see what the rest of the Design Team have dreamed up to inspire you and then make a Tussie Mussie of your own to share with us!  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Time to Fly

Greetings!  My post today is for the current challenge over at Make My Monday where the theme celebrates Earth Day and Nature.  I really love bird imagery and was excited to pull out some older stamps from Red Lead Paperworks.  I began by applying Bister to Hot Press Watercolor paper.  I wasn't sure I needed Bister when I purchased it, as I already have Brusho, but am glad that I decided to get it after all.  The colors are much more muted, perfect for this type of scene.  The birds were watercolored with TowBow Markers and the edge of the panel was stamped with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  A simple bow fashioned from ribbon purchased from the Funkie Junkie Boutique and my card is complete.  Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne
