Hickory Dickory Dock

Hello!  Back again with another card for Challenge # 183 over at 365 Cards.  For this challenge we are asked to select two patterns to use on our card from:  Paisley, Polka Dots, Gingham, Houndstooth, or Toile.  I chose Polka Dots and Toile for my patterns.  The stamp images are from Crafty Individuals.  Simple embellishments include button and vintage seam binding.  Thanks again for stopping by.  Yvonne

Qualities of a Sister

Hello!  Sharing a card with you today for Challenge #182 over at 365 Cards.  This time, the challenge is to stamp on Textured Paper. I recently acquired this Macbeth stamp from Stampington.  She was stamped on textured paper with Black StazOn ink and her eyes and lips were colored in with Ranger Distress Markers.  The vine and dot were created with Dylusions Stencils and Distress Inks.  The panel was matted with Black paper and wrapped with vintage turquoise seam binding.  ChitChat stickers, by Idea-ology, extolling my sisters virtues were added and set off with Black Liquid Pearls.  Thanks for stopping by to take a look.  Best wishes, Yvonne

Gotta Have It!

There's a new challenge over at 365 Cards for Day 181 called "Gotta Have It."  We are to create a card showing something we need to have right now.  Now honestly, there is not much I need to have, as I truly believe I already have so very much, but in the spirit of the challenge, after giving it some thought, I pushed aside chocolate, a trip abroad, or a trip to the beach and decided I need some new fashions!  There is a decided crispness to the air, and fall is just around the corner.  I am longing for my soft sweaters and corduroys, though I am also wondering how close to the Holidays I can continue to wear cropped pants and sandals! And so, I have created a card with Fashionistas using images from Art Declassified.  To add an air of modernism, I chose red, white and black.  Thanks so much to each of you who have stopped by my blog this week and for your words of encouragement.  It means so much to me.  Take care, Yvonne

Always Hopeful

Hello!  Back with another card for a challenge over at 365 Cards. For Challenge 179, we are working with a the sketch below:
The focal images are stamped in Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto Specialty Paper and layered over black paper and a paper doily.  The bottom border is a combination of a paper border from Martha Stewart and vintage seam binding.  The flower, leaves and pearls are from my stash.  The word stickers are ChitChat Stickers by Idea-olgy.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Thinking of those along our Gulf Coast who are being hammered by Hurricane Isaac. Best wishes, Yvonne

Lullaby Little Darlings

Greetings!  A simple card to share with you today that was created for Challenge 180 - Stand Out Stripes over at 365 Cards.  The challenge is to make a card with stripes being sure to make the stripes the focus.  I have been systematically going through my art studio and setting aside materials (and stamps) that I don't see myself using again.  In the process, I came across a couple of these little animal squares, already stamped in Distress Ink Barn Red, and this sheet of striped paper and the card came together from there.  I added red and white striped ribbon in the center and since Mr. Zebra has stripes, I thought he worked well too!  The animal stamps are by Cavellini and the Mother/baby and sentiments, stamped in Crushed Olive DI, are by Hampton Arts.

Flower Silhouette

It's once again time for another challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenge!  The theme for the new challenge is Floral or Handmade Flowers or both.  I was excited to ink up my newly acquired stamp from Stampington.  Beginning with a specialty paper panel, I sprayed the paper with several Dylusions Ink Sprays before adding the stamp image with Black StazOn Ink.  The stamped panel was matted with white and black papers and mounted to a card base.  Where there are flowers, there are bees, so I added several! Simple embellishments include black Liquid Pearls, metallic thread, black crochet lace and scraps of vintage paper.  I hope you will stop by FSC to check out all the brilliant projects my design team sisters have prepared for you.  Won't you join the fun and add your own creation to FSC for a chance to win a wonderful prize?  Best wishes, Yvonne

Lazy Days of Summer

Greetings! It is good to be back online after a hiatus of sorts.  My dear husband and I had a lovely trip to Austin, Texas and my dear standard poodle, Josephine, is recovering well from a serious surgery.  I thank you to each of you who expressed concern for Josephine and wished me well on my travels.  My first post in returning is for the newest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where we are challenge to create a project around the theme of Summertime, in soft ice cream colors.  For my piece, I chose to finally ink up this gorgeous stamp by Crafty Individuals (CI).  I began by spraying Dylusions Inks in Turquoise and London Blue on Specialty Paper. (My ice cream flavor would be Blue Raspberry!)  The bathing beauty was stamped over top.  To soften the image, I matted it with a torn paper from a CI Summer Paper Pad.  The card base was stamped with some beach huts, seagulls, a sentiment and postmark, also from CI.  The huts were watercolored with Distress Markers and the edges of the card base were distressed with Salty Ocean and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.  Some gauze flowers, by Idea-ology with pearls added, tiny sea shells from my stash, and a repurposed ribbon from the Funkie Junkie Boutique complete my card.  I hope you check out the inspiration pieces created by the rest of the Design Team at FSC.  Their work is simply second to none!  And, I hope you will consider submitting your own project for our viewing pleasure.  Please remember we are a stamp challenge so digis are not permitted.  Full details can be found at FSC and as always, there is a wonderful prize for the top winner.  Good luck!  Best wishes, Yvonne
