A Favorite Book

For my own card, I began by laying down water colors on a piece of hot press water color paper.  I dabbed the sky while wet with a baby white to create the clouds.  The flowers, by Unity, where stamped with Archival Ink and colored in with TowBow Markers.  The centers were filled in with yellow Ranger Liquid Pearls.  The little girl and sentiment are both by Artistic Outpost.  The birds are from Crafty Individuals. Tea and Cake

 

Greetings friends and thank you for dropping by my blog.  With a new month comes a new set of digital imagery from Gecko Galz! My card above features background paper from the GG High Tea Paper Pack (HT02) and digital stamps from GG High Tea Stamps (HTS04,12)! The sentiment is by Oxford Impressions.  The images were colored in with TowBow Markers.  A bit of liquid pearls for enhancement, and a seambinding bow and my card is complete.

Greetings and thank you for stopping by my blog today!  My card today is for the newest challenge over at Inkspirational.  This time, we have a Photo Inkspiration Challenge for you to follow. 

When I first saw this really cool photo, I thought I would pull out my egg stamps and stencils.  In the end, I decided to gather up some Gecko Galz  Digital Images and papers and make a card with peeps on it.  Peeps come from eggs, right?!  A few buttons from my stash, a seam binding bow, a paper doily and some liquid pearls and my card is complete. Spread Love

Greetings and a warm welcome to all of you!  My post today is for three challenges.  The first is for the new challenge over at the Unity "Be Inspired" Challenge where I chose the color challenge below.

 

I had a lot of fun creating my water color background to include all the colors for this color challenge.  The focal and sentiment are from the Anna Girl set by Unity.  The flowers are from the "Dream with your Heart" set, also by Unity.  Ranger Liquid Pearls and some faux stitch lines complete my mixed media card. 

 

My card was also created for a brand new challenge I came across last evening called Stamps and Stencils! The theme is "Anything Goes," and is to be a mixed media piece.  I am looking forward to future challenges at this challenge site.  They have a fabulous lineup on their design team.

 

And finally, my card was created for the Stampotique Designers Challenge with the theme being "Stitching," which I also discovered yesterday and now have a bunch of new Stampotique Stamps on order!

Birthday Wishes

 

Greetings!  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I truly appreciate your visit and comments.  Today, I am sharing with you a card I made for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme this time is " to create a project that requires the use of a heat gun." 

 

 

For my own project, a birthday card for my granddaughter, I began by spraying Spun Sugar Distress Spray Stain onto an 8 x 8 inch card base.  I used my heat gun to dry the ink before overspraying with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Spray Stain so that the colors did not change.  The images and sentiments were stamped onto scrap card with Ranger Archival Ink in Black and were heat set with my heat gun.  The images were water colored with Distress Markers and Ranger Liquid Pearls and Stickles were added.  A seam binding bow completes my card.  I hope you will stop over at FSC to see what the rest of the Design Team have created to inspire you and then consider submitting a piece of your own for a possible chance to win a gift card for $20 from our gracious sponsor, FlonzCraft.  Please remember we are a stamping challenge, so stamping needs to the focal point of your piece!

White on White for Christmas

Greetings!  The weeks roll by and already it is time for another bi-weekly challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time we have a color challenge:  White on White.  

I think "White on White" is very elegant, and I LOVE to see others who work comfortably, and often, in this color palette.  I have probably only made one other card in " White on White" for another challenge last year.  Hence, I was a bit apprehensive about my own creation.  After studying a few other "White on White" creations, I determined that texture with fibers and embossing can take your project a long way.  Although your project may be all white, raised surfaces allow for better photography.  I began by embossing "Merry Christmas, a Star Border and Ornaments, all by Tim Holtz Alterations onto white card.  The focal panel was wrapped with white lace and matted to multiple white mats.  The ornaments were layered with stars cut from the star border die cut. Ranger White Pearls were also added.  A bit of white seam binding fashioned into a bow completes my card.  I hope you will check out the gorgeous creations by the rest of the Design Team and then create a beauty of a project of your own to share with us. Fragile Heart

Greetings!  It is Wednesday and that means it is time for another Word Wednesday over at 365 Cards.  This week, our word is "Bliss."  A search online reveals that "bliss" can refer to feelings of enjoyment, pleasure and satisfaction.  

I chose this adorable vintage image by FlonzCraft to reflect "Bliss" on my own card.  The image on the left side is by Kaisercraft and the sentiment is by Red Lead.  Distress markers were used to water color the images and Vintage Photo Distress Ink was used to distress image edges, as well.  A bit of Melange Tissue Paper, some Liquid Pearls and vintage seam binding dyed with Barn Red and Vintage Photo Distress Inks complete my card.  Looking forward to seeing your definition of "Bliss."  Have a great day!  Yvonne

Imagine...

It is Word Wednesday over at 365 Cards and this week the word chosen is "Imagine."  As I pondered my stamp images and clip art, I in the end decided on this beautiful image by Gecko Galz.  When I look at this mother gazing at her sleeping child, I see her imagining her daughter as she grows into a young lady.  I began by painting a paper lace border purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique with Victorian Velvet Distress Paint.  The top portion of the card front was stamped with various complimentary images received from Crafty Individuals using Victorian Velvet Distress Markers.  The clip art image was framed with a Tattered Angels Chipboard Frame and layered with a paper doily to the card front. Liquid Pearls by Ranger were added to the frame and seam binding bows, a sentiment and button were also attached. I'll also be adding this post to the Sunday Share Challenge at Frilly and Funkie. Spring Flowers

Greetings!  It's Wednesday and that means a new challenge at 365 Cards for Word Wednesday. Easter is on the way!

I was most fortunate, recently, to be asked to be a Guest Artist for Gecko Galz during the month of March 2013. I was admittedly, at first, surprised to be asked, and then delighted when I popped over to their website and saw their breathtaking offering of digital images, papers and stamps.

I Heart You

Just got my new PC back, so fingers crossed!  I apologize for posting multiple times, but I am trying to not miss deadlines for projects I have already completed.  The project above is for the current Alpha Challenge of "H" over at The Craft Barn.  I chose the word "Heart" from my dictionary.  I stamped the beautiful heart by Crafty Individuals in the upper left corner, water colored it with Distress Markers, added a portion of an image by Gecko Galz and accented the heart with liquid pearls by Ranger.  The small scattering of hearts is by Studio G as is the alphabet stamp I used to spell the word heart on an Idea-ology sticker.  A puffy heart with ChitChat Stickers completes my page.  Thanks so much for dropping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Friends Forever

The weeks just fly by don't they?  It is time once again for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  This time, the challenge is to "Show Some Love."  With Valentine's Day soon upon us, the timing of of challenge could not be better.  For my own card, I chose this sweet image by Artistic Outpost and lightly colored it with Distress markers.  Simple embellishments include several paper doilies, vintage buttons and seam binding, die cut hearts (a complimentary thank you gift with a recent order at The Funkie Junkie Boutique) and Ranger Liquid Pearls.  The background paper is a digital print out by Gecko Galz.  I hope you will pop over to FSC and check out all the beautiful inspiration prepared by my Design team Sisters and I hope you, too, will submit an entry of your own.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Best wishes, Yvonne

Won't You Be My Honey?

Hello!  My post today is a card I made for the current challenge over at Our Creative Corner called "Shabby Chic."  I used an image and sentiment from Stampsmith's "Won't You Be My Honey" plate.  The chipboard heart was included in my order from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  I used a Ranger Distress Stain in Pewter to paint the heart before adding Ranger Liquid Pearls.  A length of lace and vintage seam binding, a paper doily and some vintage buttons complete my card.   I am also entering this over at Simon Says Stamp and Show.
