Be strong, Hold on

Greetings! It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, we have a photo to inspire us. I love this photo! Probably as it suits my decorating style.

For my project, I created a card. I began by placing a stencil by Stencil Girl over a water color panel. I then sprinkled several shades of blue Magicals over the stencil and sprayed with water. The focal point at the bottom is an image by Dina Wakely as are the sentiments.

I hope that you will stop over to see what the rest of the design team has created and then create a project of your own to share with us.  Hugs, Yvonne

Know Who You Are

Greetings! My post today is for the current challenge over at Frilly and Funkie where the theme is "Happy, Happy, Happy." Anything goes, just make a project that makes you "happy."  Recently, I have really been enjoying learning more about mixed media card making and also about "She Art."  I love the strong, powerful, uplifting sentiments and images available to encourage women in life.  I also love splattering paint and ink and dripping paint!  And so, my card above made me happy making it! The background was done with Dylusions Ink Sprays, the sentiment is by Donna Downey for Unity Stamps and the focal image is by Dina Wakely.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne

A Forgotten Old Favorite

Greetings dear friends.  So lovely of you to stop by today.  Today I am sharing with you a card I made for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme this time around is to create a project using one of your favorite stamp images that you have not used, or have forgotten for some time.  I am always excited to see what my design team sisters share and know you will be delighted too, so please take a peek over at FSC and then dig through your own stamps and share a project with us.  Remember, we are a stamping challenge, so stamping must be your focal point.  Flonzcraft, our generous sponsor is providing a $20 gift voucher to one randomly drawn participant.

For my own card, I began with a hot press water color panel, to which I applied Dylusions Ink Sprays in various colors and then pounced a water color brush dipped in water to blend the colors slightly. I splattered several shades of Dr. PH Martins India Ink on the panel next.  Dina Wakely and Unity Stamps were dipped in acrylic paints and added to the panel. The focal image, by Art Declassified, sadly now defunct, was one of my "go to" images for years.  It is stamped in Midnight Blue Archival Ink.  The sentiment by Dylusions was stamped with Archival Ink, as well, trimmed and mounted to the panel. Some photo corners and a bit of baker's twine complete my card.

Thanks again for dropping by.  Looking forward to seeing your project! Hugs, Yvonne

Tussie Mussie

Greetings faithful followers!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  There is a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, and the Pink Team is making Tussie Mussies!  I admit this is my very first Tussie Mussie!  I planned to do something Victorian but really struggled with putting anything around the edge and found Washi Tape a safe bet, hence I decided to go a bit more modern! My stamps are all by Dina Wakely. Archival Ink by Ranger and Silks Acrylic Paints were used, along with Towbow Markers. I hope you will pop over to EE and see what the rest of the Design Team have dreamed up to inspire you and then make a Tussie Mussie of your own to share with us!  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

To Love and Be Loved

Greetings dear friends and thank you for stopping by today.  My post is for the latest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme is Lovey Dovey and can either be two people or a pair of animals!  I hope you will pop on over to see what the rest of the Design Team has dreamed up for you and then submit a project of your own for the chance to win a $20 gift voucher from our ever generous sponsor, FlonzCraft!

For my own card, I began by spaying three different Dylusions Ink Sprays onto a water color panel.  I over stamped several images by Dina Wakely and added washi tape.  The focal image and sentiment are a set from Crafty Individuals.  They were lightly watercolored with Towbow Markers.

Looking forward to seeing your project! Hugs, Yvonne

Thin Ice...

Greetings! My post today is to showcase a card I made for the new challenge over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where the theme is "Make Your Own Background."  To create the background, I used a water color panel and sprinkled Brusho Crystals on it and then sprayed with water.  When it was dry I added the washi tape by Scarlet Lime, some dots from a stamp by Dina Wakely dipped in Silks Acrylic Paint and then doodled around the perimeter with a black pen. The image is from FlonzCraft and the sentiment is by Dylusions.  Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne

Making a Place Beautiful

Greetings! So good of you to drop by! Sharing a card with you today that I made for my oldest daughter's birthday. Her favorite color is turquoise so I chose that for the focal image, which is by Donna Downey. The other images are by Dina Wakely. I used Silks Acrylic Paints and Ranger Archival Ink. I had a lot of fun with this one!  Hugs, Yvonne

Strong Women

Greetings and thank you for dropping by my blog today.  I found myself not entering challenges after joining a number of Design Teams and after my husband had a major stroke last year.  It occurred to me recently that I might like to try my hand at it again.  I popped over to one of my all time favorite challenges, Our Creative Corner, and found a Tic Tac Toe Challenge going on.  I chose "Paint, Stamps and Stencils" as my challenge.  I began with a piece of watercolor paper, which I misted with water and then added several colors of Dylusions Spray Inks.  When dry I sprayed more water onto the panel.  I stenciled with a Tim Holtz Stencil and Wendy Vecchi Black Embossing Paste.  I splattered Dr. Ph Martin's Black ink on the panel and then splatted Goldens High Flow Acrylic Paint in white and allowed the larger drops to drip.  The flower is by Donna Downey and colored with TowBow Markers.  The images and sentiment are by Dina Wakely.  I would also like to submit my card for the Drips and Drops Challenge over at the Country View Crafts.  Thanks for stopping by.
