Hip Hip Hooray!

Greetings! It's Wednesday and time for another Word Wednesday over at 365 Cards.  This week, our word is Confetti! How will you interpret your project?  Looking through my clip art images, I came across this one from Gecko Galz.  I envisioned confetti coming out of the musician's horn and off I went!  Still working my way through the Tim Holtz Stencils, this time with the Stars Stencil.  I used Wendy Vecchi Gold Embossing Paste on the stencil.  The sentiment stamps are by AMuse Stamps.  Vintage seam binding completes my card.  I cannot wait to see your take on the challenge!  Take care, Yvonne

A New Home

Hello! Well the weeks just keep flying by.  We are up to Challenge #8 over at Inspirational where the CASE challenge for this week is shown below.

I am admittedly new to CASE and feeling my way but it is great to stretch yourself in new directions.  For my card, I chose this adorable bird stamp by Studio G.  The sentiment is by A Muse Stamps.  Vintage buttons, a snippet of burlap string and a feather from my stash complete my card.  I hope will check out the gorgeous samples of my Design Team Sisters and then submit a piece of your own.  Please see Inkspirational for full details on submitting and prize offerings.  Take care, Yvonne

Emerald Anniversary

Greetings!  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  We've had snow showers, and it is bitter cold, but it could always be worse.  I am sharing a card with you that I made this afternoon for the latest challenge at Electic Ellapu where the challenge is to create an Anniversary Card.  Madeleen is the host and she gave us a table of colors to use for specific anniversaries.  My card will be for my oldest daughter and her husband who will celebrate 20 years of bliss soon, which calls for Emerald Green and White.  I chose to layer a green mat to my card base and addded some geometric ribbon along the bottom.  The focal image is by Stampsmith.  The quote by Victor Hugo is by A Muse Stamps.  The scattered hearts were bits of leftover recycled paper in my stash that I punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful week ahead.  Best, Yvonne

Two Souls

Here we are at Week 2 of Inkspirational Challenges!  We are so excited that you have joined us.  Below is the Photo Inkspiration for this week.  

For my card, I was inspired by the heart, window and flowers.  I chose a paper heart doily, clip art from Crafty Individuals that I thought somewhat replicated the Inkspiration Photo and added some German Scrap roses.  The sentiment by A Muse stamp seemed fitting and was the first time I inked it up.  I hope you will stop over to Inkspirational Challenges and see the diverse designs of the Design Team and then give the challenge a try.  Have a great weekend.  Best, Yvonne

Calling All Cowgirls!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Just a quick post tonight, to share a card I made for my dear son's wife for her birthday.  Valerie has always liked horses and went to college for Equestrian Studies.  I thought rather than images of horses this year that I would, instead, use this image by Queen's Dresser Drawer Stamps.  The sentiments around the edges are from A Muse Stamps.  Simple embellishments include a snippet of white burlap from The Funkie Junkie Boutique, vintage buttons, some Baker's Twine, a corrugated cardboard heart, and an Idea-ology flower charm.  I hope she likes it!  I am entering this post at my DT Sister, Brenda's, blog under Tuesday's Treasures.  The treasure on my card are the vintage buttons.  Every time I use some of my vanishing stash, I wonder what garment and from who's wardrobe the buttons came.  I am always thrilled when friends and family share old buttons with me and consider them treasures, indeed.  Thanks for stopping by.  Best wishes, Yvonne

MMM Challenge # 33 - Leaves and Flowers

Back again, with a second post for today! This post is for a Make My Monday Challenge - Nature (Leaves and Flowers). As I headed up to my art studio to work on this challenge, I gave some thought to what direction to go. When I thought of flowers, this old standby from Hero Arts came to mind. I stamped it with Festive Berries and Peeled Paint Distress inks. I chose paper leaves with a text imprint and stamped my background with this sweet little heart balloon from A Muse stamps that I just discovered in my stash earlier today and colored them in with a Copic Marker. With Valentine's Day coming up, I thought adding a doily and a loving sentiment by Studio G complete my card. I hope you are having a good day. My best to each of you. Yvonne
