Pip, Pip, Cherrio!

Greetings! Happy New Year! This is my first post for the New Year and it is for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme this time is "Anything Goes!"  I hope that you will stop over to see all the beautiful creations by the design team and then consider creating a piece of your own to share with us at FSC.  One lucky participant will receive a stamp image selected for them by our generous sponsor Ink Art Designs! Please remember that we are a stamping challenge so your creation needs to use stamping as the focal point.

For my own creation, I began with a piece of water color paper and stamped a variety of images from Artistic Outpost onto the panel. I distressed the enter panel with several Distress Ink colors before mounting the panel onto a mat and a card blank. I recycled piece of ribbon adorns the card. Thanks for stopping by! Best, Yvonne

A Strong Woman

Greetings! It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge. The theme for July, selected by our leader, Shirley, is "Use Your Inks!" I hope that you will stop by to see all the beautiful samples that the Design Team created to inspire you and that you will consider creating a piece of your own to share with us.  Remember, one lucky participant will be selected to win a stamp image selected for them by our generous sponsor, Ink Art Designs! Just remember that we are a stamping challenge, so the focal point of your creation must include stamping!
For my own design, I began by spraying a water color panel with three different Distress Spray Inks. The focal image was stamped on scrap cardstock and then colored in with more ink using TomBow Markers and a water brush pen.
Thanks, as always, for dropping by. I truly value your support.  Best, Yvonne

I hope that you will stop over to see all the cool designs the design team have dreamed up for you and then create one of your own to share with us!

For my own cared, I worked with Distress Inks, images from Stampotique and some embellishments on hand. A cheery card to send to someone who needs his or her spirits lifted!

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne

Happy Halloween!

Greetings! It is time again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, it's to create a project with just "one layer."

Not sure why, but I find one layer cards extremely challenging! For my own creation, I worked with images by Oxford Impressions.  I colorized with Distress Inks and added a bit of Ranger Stickles and some doodling.  I hope you will stop over to see what the rest of the design team cooked up for you and then create a project of your own to share with us.  Thanks for stopping by! Quoth the Raven

Greetings! I am several days behind in posting my project for the October Challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  Life sometimes gets in the way, doesn't it? I am grateful to Elaine for her patience.  The theme this month is: Dark/Dramatic Colors and/or Scary!

I chose to go with scary.  Black birds really creep me out, specifically in the fall. I began with an orange tag from Red Lead Paperworks, stamped the raven and sentiments, which are from Red Lead Paperworks, as well. I used Distress Inks to colorize and distress everything, and then assemble it onto the tag.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your own projects! Happy Crafting. Best, Yvonne

To the Moon and Back

Greetings! I have been away for many, many weeks, though there have been some scheduled posts. I did not have my art supplies with me either, so after taking care of necessities, I treated myself to some time in my art studio. I decided to play along with the newest challenge over at Stampotique where the theme is "Only Blue." I inked up this darling rocket ship and passengers for the first time using Midnight Blue Staz On Ink and water colored it with several tints of Distress Ink. The panel was spritzed with Periwinkle Blue Dylusions Ink and the moon was masked with Frisket, but the ink bled through and I actually like it! Stars by NStudio for Rubber Moon and a splattering of sequins in shades of blue by Red Lead Paperworks completes my card. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving love and comments. Best, Yvonne

Dance Ballerina, Dance!

Greetings! It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, the challenge is to make a project based on the inspiration photo below.

Though my first thought was to go very similar to the photo above, in the end, I decided to go a bit more colorful. I grabbed a scrap piece of water color paper that had some mop up ink on it and using a Red Lead Paperwork stencil to trace around the edges before cutting the ballerina out.  The background was also created using a Red Lead Paperwork stencil. I doodled around the edges after distressing with Spun Pink Distress Ink and added some sequins for fun.  I hope that you will pop on over to Inkspirational to see what the rest of the design team has created and then share a project of your own with us.  Best, Yvonne

You are Pawsome!

Greetings! It's time again for a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  This time, our theme is "Anything Goes." That should make it easy for everyone to play along!

I hope you will stop over to see the variety of projects that our design team have created to inspire you and that you will then crate one of your own to share with us.

Mine is quite simple.  I spritzed water color paper with water and then Distress Inks. I stamped a Stampotique image with white fluid acrylic onto the background and doodled with a black pen. I stamped, with Distress Ink, a foreground with a stamp by Stampendous. Next I water colored some Tim Holtz Paperdolls and added them to the panel. Some sentiments by Red Lead Paperworks complete my card. Thanks for stopping by.  I truly appreciate your visits. Best, Yvonne

Cherished Memories

Greetings! It is once again time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time we have a sketch to follow. The circles are for placement, but the actual shape you use, is up to you!

For my own design, I chose to replace the circles with seashells! The sentiment and shells and sequins are all by RedLead Paperworks. I am not the best at CAS designs, but if you pop on over to Inkspirational, you will be inspired by the rest of the design team for sure!  I hope you will create and share a project of your own! Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Love Rocks!

Back again with a new post to share a card that I made for my son and his wife for their anniversary.  All images by Dina Wakley. I began with a water color panel and spritzed it with Distress Ink Sprays. The figures were stamped on scrap water color paper, trimmed, water colored and adhered to the panel. The panel was matted and mounted to a card base. Thanks for stopping by! Yvonne

Get Back Up!

Greetings! Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I truly appreciate your visit and comments.  Today, I am sharing with you my design for the April 2017 Challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu where the theme is Shabby Chic or Vintage.  Lots of room for variety here.  I hope you will stop over to see all the creativity the Design Team put into their designs to inspire you and I hope that you will share one of your own designs with us!

I decided to ink up this gorgeous stamp set by Artistic Outpost for the very first time and go with a vintage look.  The watercolor panel was colorized with Ken Oliver Color Burst Powders and the images were dragged through some watered down Distress Inks to blend them in to the background a bit. A bit of doodling and some Ranger Enamel complete my card.

Thanks again for stopping by! Yvonne

A Boy and his Dog

Greetings! I generally do not photograph inside, but we are in the rainy season with no end in sight, so I hope you will overlook my photo's background!

For my card, I began with a watercolor panel and sprayed it with several Distress Spray Inks. The sentiment by Artistic Outpost was stamped on a scrap panel, dredged through Distress Ink on my craft mat and added to the main panel.  I stamped circles using a stamp by Stampotique randomly onto the card panel. The paper dolls by Tim Holtz were added next, over top of a number of different colors of thread by Tim Holtz. For a bit more texture, I added embossing paste through a Tim Holtz stencil at various points on the panel.

I would like to submit my card to Love To Create, Challenge #6, called "Anything Create, Mixed Media Goes."

Thanks for stopping by! Yvonne

Vintage Toys

Greetings! I am late posting my design team sample for the new challenge over at Inkspirational.  An unexpected 8-day stay in the hospital for my husband has really upset the apple cart!

As you can see from the photo above,  we are working from the photo to be inspired to create our projects.  I hope that you will pop over to see all the fabulous creations from our design team, and guest designer, and then consider joining in the fun with a project of your own.

For my own card, I had to dig back very deep into my early stamp acquisitions to a set called "Vintage Toys" by Invoke Arts Stamps. The last time I created with this set, it came out quite different. I decided to make polka dots by dipping the bottom of a tool into crackle paint.  I guess because it was such small quantities the crackle really doesn't show. The images were stamped on scrap water color paper, trimmed and water colored with Tombow markers. Some washi tape was used to ground the toys. A bit of stenciling with Distress Ink, and a touch of Ranger Enamel.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

Best, Yvonne

Heaps of Pearls

Greetings! Back again with a post for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge, where the new theme is "Resist."

I cannot remember the last time I created a piece using resist.  I really struggled, and almost gave up and then realized I was trying to use too heavy of inks. Once I broke out my sorely neglected Distress Ink Pads the images finally revealed! The shells are by Red Lead Paperworks, and the stenciled coral is also by Red Lead, as are the sentiments.

I hope you will stop over to see what the rest of the design team has cooked up for you and then consider creating a piece of your own to share with us. Remember, one lucky participant will win a gift voucher from our sponsor, Flonzcraft.

Thanks for stopping by! Yvonne

Gecko Galz August 2015

Greetings friends! My post today is to showcase some of the August 2015 imagery by Gecko Galz! I hope you will check out all the gorgeous art work by the rest of the Design Team and check often as new inspiration is offered throughout the month.  For my card above, I began by add Bister Crystals to a water color paper panel and spritzing with water.  I next stamped hand card images by Kate Crane and added Gold Fluid Acrylic paint by Golden.  The focal image and sentiment are from Gecko Galz Circus Time Stamps CT22, and Circus Life 2. and were printed, trimmed, matted and adhered to the card panel. I added liquid pearls to the corners.  The circus wagon by Artistic Outpost was stamped, trimmed, colorized and adhered to the card front.

For my next card, I printed out Curiosity Shop Papers CS2 and trimmed it to fit card front.  I matted the designer paper with black paper. I printed out focal image (Curiosity Shop Stamps CS) and sentiment (Gecko Galz Circus Time Stamps CT22) trimmed, colorized and mounted it to panel.  The panel was added to the card base. Liquid pearls were added to each corner of card.
For my final card, I again colorized a water color panel with Bister Crystals and stamped Kate Crane hand carved stamps.  I really liked the Gecko Galz Clown looking from the side, which was printed, trimmed and colorized and added to the card front.  The focal image, also be Gecko Galz was matted and adhered as shown along with the sentiment.  (Gecko Galz Circus Time Stamps CT23, CT22, Circus Life 1.)

Below is a FREE clip art image from Gecko Galz! Enjoy!

The Hero

Greetings and welcome to my blog! Fashionable Stamping Challenge is back with a new challenge for you.  This time, the theme is "All About the Men." I chose to work with this set by Artistic Outpost.  I began by adding Bister crystals to a water color paper panel.  The background stamp was repeatedly stamped. The images and sentiments were stamped on scrap card, trimmed, and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mounted onto the panel which was then matted and added to a card base. A bit of vintage black seam binding and some gifted buttons from Unity Stamp Company and my card is complete.  I hope you will check out the rest of the samples created for your inspiration over at FSC and then make one of your own to submit. One lucky participant will earn a $20 gift voucher from our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Yvonne

A Gentleman is Always That!

Greetings! Back again with a new challenge over at Inkspiration where our theme this time is "Grunge."  For my own card, I began with a water color panel, spritzed with water and some Bister. The edge of the panel was distressed and torn and then inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The background was stamped with Artistic Outpost images than collaged with a bit of old text.  My AO images were stamped, distressed with ink and added to the card front.  I hope you will stop over to see what the rest of the team has dreamed up to inspire you and then make a project of your own to share with us.  Thanks for stopping by.  Yvonne

Time Flies

Hello! My post today is for a new to me challenge called the Love to Create Challenge where the theme is " Anything Creative/Mixed Media Challenge."  My friend, Tracy Evans, inspired me to join in with her beautiful card, which you can see here.  Tracy's post encouraged me to get out my Pan Pastels and use them in a mixed media project.  I began by adding pink, yellow and blue hues of PPs to my card base.  I next stenciled with Worn Lipstick through a Tim Hotlz stencil. Then I splattered Black Dr. PH Martins India Ink.  Washi tape came next.  The focal image by Deep Red Rubber Stamps was stamped with Archival Ink.  The sentiment was a complimentary stamp from Art Journey Stamps. The stamped images were matted with black paper and splattered with water colors. I decided to tuck a bit of yellow lace and add some buttons and a bit of seam binding in homage to these beautiful old souls.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Hold On Tight!

Greetings my friends! My post today is for the June Challenge for the Pink Team over at Eclectic Ellapu where "Anything Goes!"

I hope you will stop over and see what the Pink Team has dreamed up to inspire you and then submit a project of your own!  I decided to onk up a brand new to me stamp from Kate Crane available through Stampotique. I began with a hot press water color paper panel and sprayed with several shades of Dylusions Ink Sprays.  I added polka dots with Festive Berries Distress Ink through a Tim Holtz Stencil.  The Stars were wiped out of the background with stencil and a baby wipe.  I also added more stars through the same stencil, by Red Lead Paperworks with embossing paste.  I added some washi tape by Tim Holtz at the bottom of the card to anchor the angel.  The text filled circles are hand cut from a book page and doodled with black and white ink. The sentiment comes with the angel!

Thanks for stopping by! We hope you will join in.  Best, Yvonne

Shades of Purple

Greetings and thank you for stopping by my blog today.  My post today is for Inkspirational.  There's a new challenge to create a project using "Shades of Purple."  But there is also a twist! One of our Design Team members, Pia, is about to be married, and our cards, though created in purple, are also wedding cards! Here's hoping we were able to surprise Pia and here's wishing Pia and Thomas many years of love, health and happiness.

For my own card, I stenciled the card base using Distress Ink and a stencil by TCW. A doily was layered on top of the stenciling.  The clip art image and sentiment are by Gecko Galz.   A seam binding bow completes my card.  We look forward to seeing what you create using shades of purple!

Best, Yvonne
