Rain Man

Greetings! A bit of a delay in posting the current challenge for Inkspirational! My post today is for the Photo Inkspiration Challenge shown below.

I was most excited about this challenge, as I love architecture and the umbrella man in the photo immediately made me think of an image I could use! The buildings, by Paper Artsy, were stamped onto scrap paper, trimmed and distressed with various shades of Distress Ink, Iced Spruce and Faded Jeans, as was the umbrella man by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, and the card panel.  The rain drops are by Designs by Ryn and were stamped directly onto the distressed card panel. The other images were added and some Stickles were added to the rain drops. I hope that you will pop over to see all the other cool designs by the rest of the design team and then consider creating one of your own to share with us. Thanks for dropping by! Best, Yvonne

A Work in Progress

Greetings! It's time once again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational. The theme this time is to create a project based on the word "Work."
Lots of ways to go with this challenge and I hope that you will pop on over to Inkspirational to see what the rest of the design team came up with to inspire you.  For my own piece, I began by applying Magicals to a water color panel.  I then inked up images by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous and added them over the background, which was then matted and layered to a card base. I hope that you will consider creating a project and sharing it with us at Inkspirational.  Thanks for stopping by. Best, Yvonne

Love, Love, Love

Greetings one and all. After a short break, Eclectic Ellapu is back with the first challenge for 2018, and it is "Anything Goes!"

I hope that you will stop over to see all the unique projects that were created and then consider creating one of your own to share with us!

For my piece, I began with a new to me stamp by Stampers Anonymous, one of the blue print stamps by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is also one of Tim's for Stampers Anonymous.  Love that saying.

After stamping the image onto water color paper, I added Magicals and collaged polka dotted tissue paper, followed by some stenciling with texture paste using a TCW stencil.  Other stamps used are by NStudios, for Rubbermoon Stamps and the scribble heart is by Sissix.

I am just back in the art studio after a lengthy break due to family obligations and the holidays. It feels good to get inky again.  How are all of you doing?  Would love to hear from you.  Hugs, Yvonne

Christmas Greetings

Greetings! We are just a few days past Christmas, and I hope that each of you enjoyed your time with your family. It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, we are challenged to create a card with only stamping.  Please see the parameters allowed over at Inkspirational for specific details!

Although, I consider myself a stamper, and nearly all my cards include stamping, I did not realize how I over time have added layers of things other than stamping to my cards, so this truly was a challenge for me!

As my card was made some time ago, I hope you will forgive me that it is still a Holiday card! Images are all by Stampers Anonymous. Please stop over to Inkspirational for inspiration by the rest of the Design Team and then we hope that you will share a creation of your own with us!

Thanks for dropping by and I wish each of you a very Happy New Year! Best, Yvonne

Christmas Greetings

Greetings! The weeks roll by quickly, and once again it is time for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme is "Celebrating." It can be a project around celebrating Christmas, New Years, Birthdays, or whatever else strikes your fancy.

I hope that you will stop over and check out all the beautiful and inspiring projects by the rest of the Design Team and then consider making a project of your own to share with us.  Remember, we are a stamping challenge, so the focal point of your project must be stamped.  Also, one lucky participant will be selected to win a stamp image provided by our gracious sponsor Ink Art Designs

For my own project, I began by sprinkling Bister crystals in blue and brown onto a water color panel.  The pup carrying an evergreen branch is a new to me stamp from The Frantic Stamper. The sentiment is a stamp image by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous and the little boy is a paper doll by Tim Holtz for Idealogy. The corners are hand drawn and a bit of Stickles for sparkle complete my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I truly value your visits and comments.  Best, Yvonne

Sing Your Heart Songs

Greetings! Welcome to the newest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme this time, selected by our own Dot Leathbridge, is "All About Inkiness." I hope that you will pop on over and check out all the samples created for you by the Design Team and then be inspired to create a piece of your own to share with us.  One lucky participant will receive a stamp from our generous vendor, Ink Art Designs. Please remember though, that we are a stamp challenge, so stamping needs to be front and center, the focal image of your project.

For my own piece, I began by spritzing a water color panel with various shades of Distress Ink. Next I stamped Distress Oxides on a craft mat, spritzed with water and then dragged it through the inkiness.  More background was built up with stamps and more Distress Oxides and doodling with a white Gel Pen.  The focal images by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous were stamped with Catherine Pooler ink, trimmed and adhered to the panel after adding some washi tape to ground the images.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I look forward to seeing what you create! Hugs, Yvonne

Crazy Birds

Greetings! It is time for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  The theme is "things with wings!" I made this card for my sister-in-law, and unfortunately did not realize that there was a shadow on the photo until I was posting the picture and the card is already in the mail!  I hope you will pop over to FSC and see the inspiring pieces that the design team have put together for you and then consider sharing a piece of your own with us.  Just remember that we are a stamping challenge! As always, Flonzcraft is our generous sponsor and one lucky participant will win a gift voucher for $20! For my own card, I began by spritzing Dylusions Ink Sprays onto Hot Press water color paper.  I added bits of washi tape next. Then I flicked some Titanium Golden Acrylic Paint onto the panel and added Black Dr. PH Martins India Ink.  I decided to blow on the drops and really liked the wonky effect I got.  The birds by Tim Holtz were stamped on scrap water color paper as well. They were then colored with TowBow Markers, trimmed and adhered onto the prepared panel.  The sentiment by Unity Stamps was stamped onto scrap as well, trimmed, dotted with black ink and added to the prepared card front.  Bakers twine completes my card.  Thank you so much for dropping by!

Let's Bake a Cake!

Hello!  The weeks fly by and here we are once again ready for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  This time around, we are challenged to create a card!  No tags, or other projects please.  For my own card, I began with an 8 x 8 card base. Using Tim Holtz Stencils and Black Soot and Festive Berries Distress Inks, I added stripes and random dots.  Next, using Wendy Vecchi Black Embossing Paste, I added stars using another Tim Holtz Stencil.  The focal images include the Blueprint Cupcake by Stampers Anonymous for Tim Holtz and two images from FlonzCraft.  Aren't they absolutely adorable?  To go along with the vintage color palette, I distressed all the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I hope you will stop over to FSC and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and I sure hope you will submit a card of your own.  One lucky participant will win a $20 Gift Voucher for FlonzCraft, our generous supplier.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Yvonne

Happy Birthday!

It's Wednesday! It's time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, we are challenged to create a project using the color scheme below:

Now, with color challenges, your are pretty much wide open for what you create.  I decided it was time to ink up a new to me Tim Holtz Blueprint Stamp.  The image was watercolored with Distress Markers and then glittered up with some Mustard Seed Distress Glitter.  The background needed something, so I added Black Embossing Paste using a stencil, both by Wendy Vecchi.  Our sponsor this month is "Inspired by Stamping."  One lucky participant who completes all the September challenges will win a $20 gift card! Please check out the rest of the Design Team's Inkspiration pieces and then join in!  Best wishes, Yvonne

Go Wild! See the World!

Greetings!  I am a bit late with this post, which should have been on my blog yesterday.  It is for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme this week is "Mail Time."  Lots of different ways to interpret this one.  I hope you will stop over to see what the Design Team has created for some inspiration and then create a project of your own for the chance to win a $20 gift voucher from our generous sponsor FlonzCraft.

For my own card, I decided to work with a new plate of images from Crafty Individuals.  Both focal images include postmarks.  Everything was stamped with Timber Brown StazOn Ink and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The panel along the left side is from Classics#6 Stampers Anonymous, which I purchased recently from the lovely Linda over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  I will also be submitting this to The Sunday Share Challenge at Frilly and Funkie.

This has been an extremely emotional week for me.  My dear husband retired on Thursday after 36 years at his position.  Since we married 13 years ago, we have traveled throughout our State and the Country and have many wonderful friends we catch up with on a regular bases.  It caught me quite unaware that going forward I may not see most of these folks ever again.  Retirement is surely a transition, and a new beginning!  Thanks for listening and for dropping by.  Always love to hear from you.  Hugs, Yvonne

Bloggers' Challenge - Element of Time

Well it is Thursday, and I am finally getting a chance to work on last Friday's Bloggers' Challenge. I have been busy preparing inspirational pieces for an upcoming release of new stamps over at Artistic Outpost. The stamps are absolutely gorgeous. You will love them! With that project well under way, I turned to making a card for the theme at Bloggers' Challenge of Element of Time. I chose a clock stamp by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, and stamped it on a scrap of designer card stock with Black Versafine Ink. I had intended to add a spinner piece to it, but think now that it might have been a bit much. My clip art image is from Crafty Individuals and as you can see in the closeup below, it includes text that says "Time for Tea." I added vintage lace and buttons, some pink Liquid Pearls and ribbon and a pin and tea pot charm.

Matting with various papers and attaching the panel to a Mushroom colored card base complete my card. Once I decide who this card will be sent to, I may add an additional sentiment to the bottom of the card, though I would be comfortable with it as it stands now. Well, off to make some more cards! Take care. Best, Yvonne
