Togetherness

Greetings! It's time for another Word Wednesday over at 365 Cards. The word for this week is "Together."  As soon as I heard what the word was, I immediately knew which focal image I wanted use.  I have had this previously uninked image by Crafty Individuals for some time, and thought it  fit the bill.  I smooshed Iced Spruce, Antique Linen and Scatter Straw Distress Ink onto a Craft Mat, spritzed with water and inked the focal panel. The focal image was overstamped using Black StazOn Ink.  The matted focal image was layered over the prepared card base.  For the card base, I repeatedly stamped a bicycle by Recollections, added a bit of tissue tape and distressed the edges with more Iced Spruce and Scattered Straw Distress Ink.  Some Idea-ology tickets, also distessed with ink were added to the card front.  Black seam binding and black liquid pearls complete my card.  I look forward to seeing your project.  Thanks for dropping by! Noel, Noel

First, a great big thank you to my most recent followers!  Always amazed and delighted when someone decides to follow my blog.  We are up to Week 11 at Twelve Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style, with The Funkie Junkie Boutique being our sponsor.  Linda's beautiful tag is shown below.  I was inspired to use numerous elements from Linda's tag.  The bronze tones, a white flower and bronze leaves, some lace, a script background and copper liquid pearls.
I chose my Holiday image based on Linda's "A Joyful Christmas."  It inspired me to choose my beautiful "Joy and Happiness" image from Stampington, which I embossed with Copper powder.  The "Peace" and "Noel" sentiments are by Recollections.  I did not have a holly die cut so I used my Tattered Flowers die cut, purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  Thanks for dropping by.  Best wishes, Yvonne

Study in Red and Black

This post is for the new challenge over at Blogger's Challenge. This time around, we are working from the sketch above. I recently was gifted with a package of wine labels from a new and precious friend, who is a fellow blogger and card artist. My card is made using one of these beautiful French wine labels. I also stamped a new stamp image I acquired recently from Recollections on beautiful cream colored watercolor paper with Barn Red Distress Ink. The stamped image, wine label and background paper were all matted with black paper for definition. Scalloped edge oyster colored lace, a bit of black and gold ribbon and a button I picked up earlier today complete my card. For a change of pace, I photographed my card by our gold fish pond. My poor fish could not understand why mommy wasn't feeding them! (I took their food out with me and fed them just after finishing my picture taking.) I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Best, Yvonne

MMM Challenge 24 - CAS Christmas

I love Mondays! It means another Make My Monday Challenge! For the month of November, we are exploring Christmas. For this week, Challenge #24 is to make a Clean and Simple Christmas Card with the emphasis on the sentiment. We are to keep multiple layers and embellishments to a minimum. I began with a white card base as MMM is looking for lots of "White Space!" For my Christmas image, I chose a stamp by Penny Black from some time ago. I stamped it with Distress Inks in Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo inks. I matted the image with metallic gold background paper and attached it to the card front. For my sentiment, I chose "Noel" by Recollections. I embossed it in gold (big step for me as I gave up embossing when I burnt a hole in my sofa) and cut it out and mounted it to the card front with pop dots. To further draw attention to the sentiment, I wrapped a single strand of metallic gold thread around the corner of the card near the sentiment. Wishing everyone a beautiful week. Love your comments! Best, Yvonne

365 Cards - Day 155 - Peace Signs

The challenge over at 365 Cards for Day 155 is Peace Signs. I have to be honest, this one threw me for a loop! I don't have any stamps with peace signs on them...I decided I should try a bit harder and made a peace sign by hand. After all, back in the late 60s we hand drew them! I found some "flower power" background paper, an image of a girl by Art Declassified that could be from the 60s, and the sentiment by Recollections is a Christmas stamp. I added some bling in honor of beaded curtains so popular back then and my card is complete! Thanks for stopping by. Yvonne
