Greetings! It is Wednesday, which means another Word Wednesday Challenge over at 365 Cards. This week, the word is "Discover." As soon as I saw the word, I immediately knew that I would work with images from Artistic Outpost. I began by using Frayed Burlap, Broken China, and Weathered Wood Distress Paints. The images and sentiments were stamped on card stock and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Inks. The main image was matted with burlap fabric. I made a bit of a bow out of the scraps pulled to fringe the edges of the matting. Buttons and burlap string complete my card. This card will also be entered at Make My Monday, Artistic Outpost's Referral Program and Bloggers Challenge where the challenge in each case is to create your own background. Greetings! It is time for another Word Wednesday at 365 Cards! Our word this week is "Friends." I began by searching for my focal image. I decided on this clip art image of two brothers by Crafty Individuals. Using a white card stock panel, I smooshed various distress inks onto my craft mat, spritzed with water and sopped up the inkiness in an effort to create a background that complimented the background of the focal image. The edges were distressed with a tool and then Vintage Photo Distress Ink was blended around the edges. Various stamp images by Sam Poole inked with black StazOn Ink and applied to the background panel. The focal image was matted with black paper and then a frayed burlap strip and mounted to the panel. Black paper string by Idea-ology was wrapped around the prepared panel and the panel was then added to a black card blank. Finishing touches include some metal sprockets and kraft ChitChat Stickers Idea-ology and black Liquid Pearls. We look forward to seeing how you create your own "Friend" themed project. Hello! Sharing a card I made today for two challenges. The first is for the current challenge over at Bloggers Challenge called "Cut It Out." The second is for the challenge over at Alphabet Challenge where the challenge is the letter A and specifically, Anything with Wings. To the Kraft card base, I added three strips of paper from Gecko Galz. The focal image is also by Gecko Galz, as is the ephemera. The die cut doily is by Tim Holtz Alterations. It's Word Wednesday at 365 Cards and this week the word is "Love." I decided to make a collage-style card. The Kraft card base was stamped with a heart stamp using Festive Berries Distress Ink. A scrap of polka dotted paper distressed with more DI was added next and wrapped with red burlap string. Images from Gecko Galz, a paper doily and red and white striped ribbon were layered next. The sentiment is by Studio G. A black crocheted lace bow and a button complete my card. It's Friday and that means it is time for another challenge over at Bloggers Challenge. This week, Lisa asks us to Create Your Own Background. I chose to spray white card stock with three shades of Dylusions Ink Sprays. The edges were then distressed with Wild Honey DI. The focal image by Gecko Galz was matted and layered over vintage sheet music. The sentiment by Hero Arts was stamped on a scrap of sticky back canvas. There's a new challenge over at Bloggers Challenge today. We are to create a card around "Birthdays." Perfect timing for me as my dear little grandson turns two today. Well it is that time of year, I guess! The new challenge over at Bloggers Challenge this week is to create a project around the Countdown to Halloween. I had not previously inked up this plate of stamps from the Halloween Treats plate by Artistic Outpost, so I was excited to do so. The spiders were stamped with Rangers Perfect Medium and dusted with Mandarin Perfect Pearls. The pumpkin and owl were water colored with Distress Markers. Greetings! It was a very busy weekend, so I apologize for not posting for a few days. We had a family celebration of September birthdays on Saturday and a family reunion on my father's side on Sunday. My card above is for the current challenge at Bloggers Challenge, which this week is to create a project with a Silhouette on it. I immediately thought of this adorable stamp from Inkadinkado. I used Forest Moss and Barn Red Distress Markers to color the stamp and matted it with black paper. It's Friday and that means a new challenge over at Bloggers Challenge. This week, Lisa challenges us to create a project with Fall Colors. I must say, with the change in weather, I do find myself gravitating to autumnal colors! My card was made with images by Stampington and company. The images were water colored with Distress Markers and sparkled up a bit with Distress Stickles. Simple embellishments include ribbon, copper Liquid Pearls and some paper leaves. Designer background papers, a sticker of a woman, chipboard scroll, seam binding and pearls and some bits of lace, a pinned charm and ChitChat stickers complete my card. I'll be traveling next week, so this is one of my last posts for a bit. This card is for the current challenge over at Bloggers Challenge, where the theme is "Christmas in July." I decided to pull out this stamp from Stampington, which I used some years ago for my Christmas Cards. The image and sentiment were stamped with Peeled Paint Distress Ink onto Specialty Paper. The mulberry card base was wrapped with olive lace and gold strips and a band of winter white vintage seam binding fashioned into a bow. The snowflakes were punched out with a Martha Stewart Punch and touched with gold glitter glue. To fill in the bottom of the card, I added a handful of vintage brass bottoms in various styles. Greetings! Perhaps like some of you, it has been a pretty stressful week of life! It is such a blessing to just sit down and lose myself in this wonderful world of art, don't you agree?! My post today is for the new challenge over at Bloggers Challenge. This week, Lisa inspires us to create with Die Cuts. Although I have a manual die cut machine, I must confess that I do not use it as much as I probably should, so I am always delighted when a challenge encourages me. For my card, I wanted to continue experimenting with Dylusions Ink Sprays and even tried adding some stenciling. Now there must be a knack to it that I have not learned yet, because when I tried spraying ink over the stencil, it oozed underneath even when I quickly tried sopping up the ink with paper towel. If anyone has tips, I'd love to hear them! I dipped a cap into my StazOn ink repeatedly to make some circles and doodled with black marker to make faux stitching. The focal image is from one of my go to stamp images from Artistic Outpost's Lovely Day plate and is colored in with Distress Markers (also trying to get the hang of them) and the edges were distressed with Milled Lavender DI. As for die cuts, the metallic hearts are from Tim Holtz Alterations and the spool was a gift from my Design Team sister at FSC, Brenda. Final embellishments include ChitChat Stickers, beads from my stash, a chipboard bird painted with Picket Fence Distress Stain and some vintage seam binding. I have not seen my sister in a long while, so I plan to drop her a line in this card that I made for her. I hope she likes it. Greetings! Finally got back into my Art Studio today. It sure felt good to have access to everything I wanted for my projects. This card is for several challenges. It is for the current challenge at Bloggers Challenge where the theme is Black and White and one other color, and also for the challenge at Frilly and Funkie where the challenge is Altered Metal. The main image is from Alpha Stamps and stamped with Black StazOn Ink onto Specialty Paper. Color was added with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using Sequin Waste. The metal numbers by Idea-ology were painted with Ranger Patina Paint in a Rust color. Black burlap string purchased from The Funkie Junkie and a bit of black crochet trim, a recycled button and some Chitchat stickers complete my card.

Joining in on the latest challenge over at Bloggers' Challenge. This week, we are to create a card with one layer! This is by far one of the very hardest challenges in my mind. I love embellishments, and to create a card without elements that normally add tactile texture was a bit difficult. I began with a white card base. For my one added layer, I added one of my very first prints using the Gelli Arts Gel Printing process. The edges were distress to add a bit more texture. Over top of the this layer, I stamped a variety of Artistic Outpost images from the Generation Redux plate with Black StazOn Ink. The sentiment is also by Artistic Outpost. Hello! Happy Tuesday to you. Sharing a card with you today that I made for the newest challenge over at Bloggers Challenge. This week, the theme is "Oh Baby." Mine is a simple card, short on technique, but I am pleased with the outcome. I began with a white card base and layered a paper doily over it. I added a portion of an illustration from designer paper from Graphic 45 to the top half of the doily. Winter white seam binding was tied around the card base into a bow and a small applique was attached in the center of the bow. The sentiment and baby carriage by Hampton Arts for Graphic 45 were stamped with Black StazOn ink and carefully colored with Copic Markers to avoid bleeding. Hello! Well it is Saturday, and I am at the beach, and for probably the first time I can remember, without any stash to make a card! We are celebrating my husband's birthday this weekend, so I made a consciencious effort to not be otherwise focused. I do have a few cards to share with you today, though, that I made just before leaving. For this post, I am sharing a card I am submitting to Bloggers Challenge where we are asked to create a project that Celebrate Mom or another female family member. The card above is one of many that I produced that will go out to my nieces, sister, aunt, sisters-in-laws and others within my family circle who are mothers. Only the sentiment is stamped, so it was an easy card to mass produce. Happy Friday, everyone! There's a new challenge over at Bloggers Challenge. This week, Lisa is asking us to include background paper that we make ourselves. This is one of my weakest skills so I really appreciated the chance to work on this needed talent. I began with a piece of white card stock and smooshed Distress Inks, one at a time onto my craft mat, sprayed each with water and then sopped up the ink mixture with the card stock. Colors used: Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint. Artistic Outpost stamps from the French Flight plate were stamped over top with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. The focal images, from the same stamp plate, were stamped with Black StazOn Ink on more white card stock and each was distressed with Old Page Distress Ink and mounted to the background paper, which was matted to green card stock and mounted to a card base. Finishing elements include a chipboard Fleur de Lis distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink, vintage seam binding, and an Ideology Light Bulb tied with a snippet of Burlap String from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
