There's a new challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show. This week, the challenge is to create a project around the word "Fly." How we interpret that is up to us. Lots of ways to go, but I immediately was drawn to some fabulous Artistic Outpost stamps in my stash. I began by spraying London Blue and Sunshine Yellow Dylusions Ink Sprays onto my card base. The AO images were stamped on scrap card stock and added to the card base. Sentiments, also by AO were added directly to the card base. Tissue tape by Tim Holtz was also added. (I could not resist adding the butterfly tissue tape given the challenge theme!) A few black Liquid Pearls and my card was complete. I chose not to add additional elements, which is hard for me, but seemed right. Thanks so much for dropping by. My dear husband has been in the hospital for nearly a week. It has been awhile since I have been able to join a challenge at Frilly and Funkie, so I was excited to be able to finally do so. The challenge this time is April in Paris and we must include a Parisian landmark or French Text. I pulled out several sets of Artistic Outpost images and stamped away. To soften the white card base, the edges were distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink. There's a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge. The theme for the next two weeks is "Journaling." I love this style, but have not ever really tried it myself before. I began with a "journal" page. I sprayed four different colors of Dylusions Ink Sprays onto the page. I stenciled several Dylusions Stencils with Picket Fence Distress Stain. The bathing beauty, sea gulls and beach house are all images by Crafty Individuals. The crab, starfish and shells are from Artistic Outpost. I wrote on my journal page with black and white ink, several quotes that remind me of my days at the beach.
While I resisted the urge to add embellishments, I did allow myself just a snippet of recycled white mesh in the lower left corner. Now that I have officially started my journal, I think I will continue to fill the pages. What fun! Wow! The weeks are just flying by. Already we are up to Challenge #14 at Inkspirational. This week, we have a color inkspiration of pink, bananna and slate.
For my card, I selected a white card base to give maximum pop power to the featured colors. I then looked for a clip art image by Crafty Individuals that included the colors above. Next I gathered up scraps of background paper with these colors and pushed them around on the card front until they pleased my eye. Some Tim Holtz tissue tape, a stamped sentiment, vintage buttons and seam binding and some lace and my card is complete. Greetings! It is Wednesday and that means Word Art Wednesday at 365 Cards. This week, the word for our challenge is "Happiness." For my card, I layered a frayed edge piece of pink gingham over my card base. The focal image, bee and butterfly are from Gecko Galz. The sentiment I chose speaks to "Happiness." The pink card stock matting was softened with Bundled Sage and Picket Fence Distress Paint. I went pretty feminine with lots of lace, paper doilies and bows. Greetings! It is Monday, and that can only mean one thing, another challenge at Make My Monday. This week, the challenge is to create a "One Layer Card." There is to be no matting, layering or embellishments. That's why it's a challenge! I pulled out my white card stock, cut an 8x8 card base and got started. I smooshed Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Weathered Wood Distress Paints onto my craft mat, spritzed water and drug the card base through it. I tilted the card base to get runs and then air dried it. Next I stamped this beautiful, new stamp image and sentiment from Red Lead Stamps with Black StazOn Ink. I could not resist filling in a bit of the white space with Broken China Distress Ink stenciled through a Dylusions and Tando Stencil. I'll also be submitting this card to the Frilly and Funkie Challenge for the Sunday Share as the Distress Paints were purchase at The Funkie Junkie Boutique at a great price.
