Imagine

 

Greetings! It is time for a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, and this time the theme is "Anything Goes!" It's an opportunity to pull out one of your uninked stamps and get inky!

 

For my own project, I colorized a water color background panel a variety of Distress Oxides and a new to me stencil by Donna Downey. The images on the background and the focal images are from a set by Katzelkraft Stamps.The focal images were stamped multiple times with different inks and pieced together to add a bit of color.

Sharing My Joy

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was going to be the Guest Artist for the Summer Edition of Stampers Sampler.  The magazine is now available and as you can imagine, it was an absolute thrill for me and my family.  Stampington Company did a beautiful job of presenting my cards and I am most appreciative of this opportunity.  It almost does not seem real to me.  

I thought I would share with you a few of the other cards not shown on the first two pages shown above.  I originally auditioned for their magazine called Take Ten, so I tried to reduce the steps in each of my cards by utilizing background papers and keeping images and embellishments to a minimum.  

 I love this image and sentiment by Katzelkraft and thought it went well with the turn of the century background paper.  The horse shoe stickers represented to me the transition between horse drawn carriages and the automobile.

 For this card, I stamped an image I received from Crafty Individuals as a thank you for purchasing stamps.  The feather background paper seemed fitting and elegant.  I have had these feather buttons in my sewing box for several decades! The sentiment means "What's Up?" and is by Artistic Outpost.

For my final card, the background paper featuring beautiful upholstered chairs reminded me of this gorgeous image and accompanying sentiment by Artistic Outpost.  

It is Sunday here at the beach.  It has been a difficult first week of retirement for my dear husband who is struggling with a decade long health issue.  I hope wherever you are, it is a good week ahead.  I thank you for all your visits and words of encouragement. Love, Yvonne

Treasures

A dear friend and Design Team Sister of mine, Brenda, has recently challenged others to share life's treasures.  I am so grateful to her for making me stop and think about that.  My card today is created with a treasured wine label from France.  The treasure is not so much in the label itself, but in the bond of friendship that has developed between another artist and myself.  I saw her lovely wine labels in her work and inquired about how she was able to remove them from wine bottles, as mine always turn to mush when I try removing them.  She not only told me her source, she sent me a stash of them!  Each time I use one of them, I think of her and her unselfless spirit.  So that is my treasure for today!  As for the card, the dabbles and sentiment are from Katzlekraft and the butterfly image is from Crafty Individuals.   I fell in love with this set of French sentiments.  The sentiment I used today, translated, means "Do not be afraid to fail, be afraid not to try."  Thanks for stopping by!  Best wishes, Yvonne

Means of Travel

I just received my first Katzelkraft stamps this week!  This card features the Transportation plate of stamps.  The images were stamped on glossy paper with Black StazOn ink and mounted to red and black card stock and a kraft card base.  Embellishments include white burlap from The Funkie Junkie Boutique, silver liquid pearls, vintage black seam binding and an Idea-ology binder clip.  Thanks for stopping by.  Best wishes, Yvonne
