Why A Bird Sings...
Greetings! I am still traveling about with my duffle bag of craft goodies and wanted to share with you this card I made for the current challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show where the theme is "Anything Goes." Probably one of my favorite techniques to try is pressing Distress Ink pads onto a Craft Mat, spritzing with water, and pressing card stock into the inky juice. I used Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey here. The bird collage and sentiment are from Red Lead. The grungy border on the left is by Tim Holtz and was also distressed with Vintage Photo and Mowed Lawn Distress ink. Have I mentioned that green is my favorite color before?! My embellishments are limited in my bag, but I managed to find this snippet of white burlap that was just large enough to mat the sentiment. Some black liquid pearls and some green seam binding sent with my most recent order at Red Lead complete my card. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Best wishes, Yvonne

Oh Yvonne....what a knock out card! Love all the images of the birds and the saying too, but the color and background, and side border really make this for me! Just love it! You must carry quite a stash with you! Thank you for sharing your work with us this week here at Simon Says Stamp & Show this week!
Lovely combination of colours, and the birds are wonderful!

Yvonne...your card is so pretty. I really love the die cut edge that you've added to the left side with the ledger writing. That is such a neat effect against the black background. Loving the distressed paper with the different bird stamps. The sentiment is such a sweet one and perfect for the stamped birds. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
Such a beautiful sentiment.
A lovely card you created.

You've made such a beautiful card, Yvonne! The inked background for the birds looks great, and I do love the sentiment you've used. The ribbon is beautifully arranged, and the burlap and buttons are so decorative!
A wonderful card with great elements.
