Can Spring Be Far Away?

Greetings and thank you for popping over to my blog today! My post today is for a Design Team project over at Eclectic Ellapu where the Pink Team's theme is "Anything Goes!"  What to do, what to do?  I decided to ink up some new to me images from Oxford Impressions.  As I created my card, I realized that a story was emerging, one of the beginnings of spring  The bits of green in the background, the cherry blossom washi tape, the little lamb and the children still in their winter coats!  I think many of us are ready for spring after a long, hard winter!  The card panel was water colored with green and blue water colors from my new Kuretake Water Color set.  The buttons are from Red Lead Paperworks, and the washi tape is from Retro Art Café.  I hope you will check out the rest of the inspiring projects by the Pink Team and then consider loading up a project of your own!  Thanks for stopping by.  Best, Yvonne

Sparkle with Love

Greetings and Thank You for stopping by my blog!  I am back today to share with you a card I made for the latest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme, this time around, is to create a project with numbers somewhere on your project.  What variety the Design Team has come up with to inspire you!  I hope you will pop over to see their creations and then create one of your own to share with us.  Remember, our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft, is offering a gift voucher for $20 to one lucky participant!  Please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so stamping needs to be the focal point of your piece.  For my own card, I started with a piece of water color paper and added puddles of soft red, blue and purple paint. The butterflies and script are a stamp set by Red Lead Paperworks, as is the little Pixie which I stamped onto smooth card, trimmed and water colored.  The number was stenciled with a Tim Holtz stencil.  The gorgeous Washi Tape and foil hearts are by Retro Art Café.  A simple seam binding bow completes my card.  Thank you, again, for visiting and thank you for your kind comments.  They make my day! Hugs, Yvonne

To the Moon and Back!

Greetings! I'll be sharing a series of Valentines over the next few days using gorgeous imagery from Gecko Galz! For my first sample, I stenciled Black Soot through a script stencil by TCW.  A paper doily was layered on next.  The focal image by GG is from Retro Love Story 2 and was trimmed to fit.  The sentiment is from a set by GG called Love Potion # 9 and was printed, trimmed and attached.  Washi tape from Retro Art Café, some glitter hearts from the Dollar Store and a seam binding bow colorized with Distress Ink completes my card.  Thanks for stopping by!

May Your Christmas be Merry

Greetings!  Thank you for stopping by today!  My post today is for the latest challenge over at Inkspirational.  The theme, this time around, is to create a Christmas Card.  It is optional for you to create your project without red or green.  For an extra special twist, there is a prize up for grabs for one of the participants who creates their project with the optional twist thanks to Design Team members Kim and Sandie.  I hope you will stop by Inkspirational to see what the Design Team has created and then consider submitting a project of your own.  My card was created using Artistic Outpost images.  The card base was sprayed with Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain.  The stamped images were inked with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  The rusty tree is from Retro Art Café and the chipboard numbers were a thank you gift from the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  Looking forward to seeing your creations.  Best,
Yvonne

Let there be "Peace on Earth"

Greetings! A special thank you to my new followers! Today, I am sharing at tag for the latest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme is to create "A Christmas Tag."  I normally make 8 x 8 inch cards, so making tags is a bit uncomfortable for me but I gave it a go and was happy I did.  I began by stenciling a starry background using a stencil  be Red Lead Paperworks and Distress Spray Stains in Bronze Metallic.  All the stamped images are also by Red Lead.  The bronze stars are by Retro Art Café and the burlap string is by May Arts.  The edges of the tag and the wings of the angels were shined up with Stickles.  I hope that you will stop over to see what the rest of the Design Team has dreamed up for you and then give the challenge a go for a possible chance to win a gift voucher worth $20 from our generous sponsor, Flonzcraft.  Thank you for stopping by today! Hugs, Yvonne

Valentine, I love you!

A warm hello to each of you!  After a two month hiatus, Eclectic Ellapu is back and kicking us off is the Pink Team!  Our challenge is to create a project using lots of texture.  I LOVE texture on a card and really enjoyed creating this one.  I began with gold embossing paste and stenciled it on using a Tim Holtz Stencil.  Next I layered on a paper doily and some Dresden Trim by Retro Art Cafe.  The gorgeous digital images are from Gecko Galz and finishing touches include some rhinestone heart gems and a bit of seam binding tied into a bow.  The sentiment was created using ChitChat Seasonal Stickers.  Please enjoy the inspiration pieces of the rest of the Pink Team and I hope you will submit a piece of your own for us to enjoy.  Have a great weekend!  Hugs, Yvonne

Today I Will Stand Quietly...

Greetings! The weeks fly by so quickly and already it is time for another challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time, we are creating a project based on the photo below.  The picture is The Firebird by Edmund Dulac who was famous for illustrating fairy tales.

What a fascinating photo!  I knew I wanted to use this beautiful, new to me stamp of trees by Hero Arts and stamped it with Midnight Blue StazOn Ink.  The fairy and sentiment are by Red Lead and were inked for the first time, as well.  A bit of Wendy Vechhi's Embossing Paste and a Tim Holtz stencil add sparkle to my card, along with some Dresden trim by Retro Art Cafe.  I hope you will pop over to Inkspirational to see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with and then create a project of your own to share with us.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

In the Midst of Winter...

Greetings and thank you for stopping by today!  I truly appreciate every visit and every encouraging comment.  Today, I have another card to share with you using images from the Winters Garden Collection by Gecko Galz.  I combined these gorgeous images with stamped images from Midwinter by Artistic Outpost.  The die cut snowflakes are by Retro Art Cafe.  To add a bit of sparkle, I added Glossy Accents and Rock Candy Distress Glitter.  With a heavy influence of Kraft paper and Timber Brown StazOn Ink, I found I liked the contrast of the stark white paper doily.  Thanks so much for stopping by today! Best wishes, Yvonne

Finishing touches include paper flowers, Dresden Snowflakes by Retro Art Cafe, some gem pearls and vintage seam binding.  I hope you are having a good weekend.  Thanks as always for dropping by. Yvonne

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Greetings and welcome to all my new and faithful followers.  There's a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge and this time you will have all of December to submit your project.  Our theme is "In the Holiday Spirit" and Anything Goes!  Please pop over to see what my brilliant Design Team Sisters have dreamed up for you and then I hope you will submit an entry of your own.  One lucky submitter will win a $20 gift voucher from our sponsor "FlonzCraft."  For my own piece I began with a piece of background paper by Tim Holtz.  The focal image is a new image by Crafty Individuals, which was painted with Distress Markers and glittered with Distress Glitter.  The sentiment, bear, candy cane and train engine at the bottom of the page are by Oxford Impressions.  The Dresden Tree is from Retro Art Cafe. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne
