Who She had Always Been

 

Thank you, as always, for stopping by my blog today!  I especially want to thank each of you who have encouraged me through your warm, heartfelt comments concerning this passage of life my husband and I are experiencing.  We were in the emergency room again all day yesterday, but so happy to be back home today!  My card above is for the new challenge for the Pink Team over at Eclectic Ellapu for November. Our challenge is to create a project using our favorite color scheme.  I hope you will pop on over and see what each of the design team members dreamed up to inspire you! Oh to pick my favorite color scheme!  I confess, I just could not do it.  My card above was created with soothing Vintage Photo Distress Ink and warming Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  I love these colors together, but refuse to commit to them being my absolute favorite!  Speaking of favorites, this newly inked up image by Donna Downey for Unity Stamps is at the top of my list, as are the sentiments included with the stamp!  The stenciling was done with Tim Holtz Stencils and the butterfly clusters, which were stamped repeatedly, are by Hampton Arts.  The lace and bit of ribbon were laying on my work table and the buttons are from my stash.  We cannot wait to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by! The Beauty of a Mother and Child

Greetings!  It is Wednesday and that means a new Word Wednesday Challenge over at 365 Cards!  This week, our challenge is to create a card around the word "Beautiful."  My youngest daughter had a baby last week, and first thought that came to my mind around the word "beautiful" was seeing a mother bond with her newborn child.  Designer background paper was layered over a white card base and a paper doily was layered next.  The images and sentiment are from Graphic 45, Hampton Arts, and were stamped with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.  The edges were distressed with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  The baby carriage was lifted with foam dots for dimension.  I look forward to seeing how you interpret the word "beautiful."    

Soulful Smile

There's a new challenge over at Tuesday Alchemy!  The random word generator selected three words:  Gears, Tart and Blackboard and we are to create a project around one or more of them.  I like to try to use all three and so here is what I came up with.  This beautiful woman by Hampton Art with gears in her head and painted red lips is my "tart."  Additional "gears" by Sissix are embossed onto black paper, and as well, I added some sewing snaps and an Idea-ology gear to the tart's head.  The black paper is my "blackboard" and the Idea-ology ChitChat stickers are the writing on the blackboard.  Why not check this challenge and see what you come up with?  Love seeing every one's interpretations.  Best wishes, Yvonne

Lullaby Little Darlings

Greetings!  A simple card to share with you today that was created for Challenge 180 - Stand Out Stripes over at 365 Cards.  The challenge is to make a card with stripes being sure to make the stripes the focus.  I have been systematically going through my art studio and setting aside materials (and stamps) that I don't see myself using again.  In the process, I came across a couple of these little animal squares, already stamped in Distress Ink Barn Red, and this sheet of striped paper and the card came together from there.  I added red and white striped ribbon in the center and since Mr. Zebra has stripes, I thought he worked well too!  The animal stamps are by Cavellini and the Mother/baby and sentiments, stamped in Crushed Olive DI, are by Hampton Arts.  

Lullaby Little Darlings

Hello!  There's a new challenge over at Our Creative Corner.  This time around, we are asked to create a card using Pink and Navy and one other color.  I chose to use Green as my third color.  The stamped images are from Hampton Arts and were stamped in Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint.  Spun Pink Distress Ink was added to the edges of the stamped images and the frame.  Other pink touches include a doily, rocking horse, buttons and Baker's Twine.  Thanks so much for dropping by today.  Best wishes, Yvonne

Dragon TIO - Time

There's a new challenge over at Dragon Dreams - Tag It On. The theme is "Time." For my tag, I blended some PanPastels onto ivory card stock in pinks, reds and yellows and then using Black StazOn ink, I stamped a number of stamps from the Whimsical Melange plate by Artistic Outpost onto my prepared panel and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The focal stamps by Hampton Art were stamped onto scrap ivory card stock, trimmed and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The woman was mounted to a re-purposed gold doily and the clock and winged time piece were covered with glossy accent and mounted onto pop dots. The sentiment was created with Ideology stickers. Embellishments include vintage black seam binding and black and white baker's twine, black sewing snaps and stacked vintage buttons. My final step was to mount the tag to black paper to make the background pop. Thanks for dropping by!
