Today, I am posting my final card for my application for Mynnette's new Challenge Blog called Inkspirational. For the last challenge, we are to create a card inspired by the photo below. I LOVE this photo. Probably no other color combination speaks to me like, gray, black, red and white.
I immediately knew I wanted to use this stamp by Penny Black. It is inked with London Fog Memento Ink and stamped onto Specialty Paper. The bird was inked a second time with Distress Markers, trimmed and pop dotted over the first image. White glitter glue was used to add ice to some of the branches and red glitter glue was added to a number of the berries for dimension. The image was matted numerous times and layered over a snowy/berry background paper by Martha Stewart. The snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and glittered with white glitter glue. The tartan plaid ribbon from my stash and a metal bird charm by Idea-ology complete my card. There is still lots of time to apply if you are interested yourself in joining Mynnette's new Design Team. Continuing to complete samples for consideration for Mynnette's challenge for her new Inkspirational Challenge Blog that begins in January 2013. This time, I am working from her sketch below.
I decided to do a more autumnal themed card around the sketch. The stamped images and sentiment from the Halloween Treats plate, by Artistic Outpost, were stamped with Black StazOn Ink and water colored with Distress Markers. Vintage Photo Distress Ink distresses the edges of the images and sentiment. Martha Stewart Stickers complete my card. Hello! My first post today is in response to Mynnette's Challenge to consider being selected for a the Design Team for a brand new Challenge blog call Inkspirational that begins in January 2013. Each week of the challenge, each month, will bring a new challenge: CASE, Color, Photo Inspiration, Sketch, and Anything Goes when there is a fifth week. I decided to work with stamps and die cuts I already own for my submission. The oval label is a portion of a perfume label stamp by Art Declassified. Using Distress Markers, I water colored the middle of the label with Lemonade DI so that it blended in with the background paper. The frame itself was water colored with Rusty Hinge DI. The sentiment within the frame is from Stampsmith. Not having a flower die cut, I chose this beautiful frame, also by Art Declassified. The center was cut out to create room for a Crafty Individual clip art image. The black vine, a Sissix die cut, accents the image. Liquid Pearls complete my card.
