The Voice of the Sea

Greetings and welcome to my blog! It is time once again for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  The new theme is "By the Sea." I must confess, I picked the theme this time around.  I just love the beach and the ocean and it turned out I just ordered and received some new stamps from Oxford Impressions which I used to make my card.  In a recent post, and another seaside card, I added images stamped on tissue paper and added them to a water colored panel.  I decided this time to stamp the images directly onto water color paper and then colored them in with Inktense Pencils, which are permanent, using a water brush. I then carefully water colored the sea and the sky around the images.  A few small shells were added for dimension.  I hope you will pop on over to FSC to see the fabulous collection of inspiration pieces by the rest of the Design Team and then consider submitting a piece of your own.  Please remember we are a stamping challenge, so stamped images must be the focal point of your piece.  As always, FlonzCraft, our generous sponsor, has a $20 gift voucher for one lucky participant.  Thanks for stopping by! She Decided To Leap!

Greetings!  Just getting back into joining into challenges and found that Unity Stamps has a challenge site called "Be Inspired!"  As you can see above, I chose the color challenge for my project.  I do not have a lot of Unity Stamps, yet, but have recently done some stocking up.  Just waiting for them to arrive.  I began with an 8" x 8" card base.  I added scraps of designer paper in light and true turquoise to the card base.  I then added scraps of a recycled paper bag.  I stamped "She Leaped" on scrap card and water colored her with Inktense Pencils.  After adhering her to the card front, I determined more color was needed in the background so I added several shades of Dylusions Ink Sprays.  To brighten up the background, I dipped a spray bottle cap in Golden Titanium White Fluid Acrylics and stamped it all over the background.  I also added some Golden High Flow White Titanium Acrylic to the right top of the card and let it drip down the card front. The sentiment, also by Unity, was stamped with Archival Ink onto scrap card, trimmed and added to the card front.  The border of the sentiment was added with a Black pen.  A scrap of yellow and white fabric and a yellow button complete my card.  I really enjoyed making this card.  Thanks for dropping by!
